The Casino
Considered the principal Modernist building in Manresa, the Casino was built by Ignasi Oms i Ponsa.
From its beginnings, in 1906, it operated as a social club of the wealthy classes of the city and as a casino until the Franco regime that banned this practice. Then, the so-called Gentlemen's Casino began a gradual decline that led it to close its doors in the early 1970's.
And it was not until 1999, after a complete renovation,that the building opened its doors again as a public library and a cultural center.
